Jamaica will be represented by Herman Athias, CEO of eGov Jamaica Limited in the Ministerial Meeting of Electronic Government of Latin America and the Caribbean and the Annual Meeting of Red Gealc. Mr. Athias has over thirty (30) years' international leadership experience in the Information and Communication Technology industry.
Mr. Athias’ repertoire of skills covers the gamut from systems engineering, software development and testing, network planning and engineering, strategic planning and business process re-engineering, through human resource planning and development to marketing and sales. Over a twenty-two (22) year period, he held several senior positions at AT&T in New York/New Jersey. On returning home to Jamaica, Mr. Athias held leadership or senior positions at Facey Commodity, CCS/Illuminat Jamaica Limited, among others.
Herman Athias is a St. George’s College old boy, who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickenson University, New Jersey and a Master in Business Administration from Long Island University, New York.
As an Associate Teaching Fellow at the Mona School of Business and Management, UWI, Mr. Athias continues to impact lives through his courses on Transformational Leadership, Business Policy and Global Strategy and MIS. Mr. Athias is passionate about service, has served on several Boards.
